I caught sight of this MGMT music video today, and I thought I’d share it with everyone, since MGMT are pretty damn popular among the hip crowd these days.  This video was pretty high up on Digg this morning, though it’s since fallen off a bit.

To be honest, I don’t get the allure of MGMT.  I find them to be the kind of boring ripoff music that kids from Nebraska who move to Brooklyn like a whole lot because it makes them feel arty and like they’re not actually from Nebraska.  However, it’s my job to give awesome video and fun geek news.  My own feelings about the group notwithstanding, I actually quite enjoyed this video.  There aren’t enough bands making throwback 1980s cheaply produced drug trip music videos these days.

Seriously though, these guys need to eat something, exercise, get some sun, and stop taking so much peyote.  As hot as it is to look like a strung-out 14-year-old, it’s just not really at all.
