Kip Kerdesha Clears 10 G’s on MetaCafe
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that the internet is not a viable business model. While this story may not debunk the theories posited in an episode of South Park aired earlier this season, it certainly proves that you can make money by posting videos on the internet. Kip Kerdesha makes decent money on the side via MetaCafe - so much so that the New York Times has run an entire article on his How-To video business.
From the article:
“Plenty of entrepreneurs and financiers are hoping that the wave Mr. Kedersha has begun to ride is a long way from cresting. In the last two years, investors have put tens of millions of dollars into start-up companies with names like WonderHowTo.com, VideoJug, Howcast, ExpertVillage and Graspr, which are all hoping to become the YouTube of how-to video clips”
So there you have it. According to the New York Times, internet how-to videos are the next big thing. We shall see.
