I don’t know about you, but I love aliens.  When I was a kid, I used to harbor ridiculous dreams of becoming an astronaut and shaking hands with Martians.  I was way into things like constellations and Star Wars and all of that.  Needless to say, I was not the captain of any sports team.  I still maintain that I would have made a truly amazing astronaut if my eyes hadn’t failed me.

So imagine my joy about this story claiming we may hear from aliens by 2015.

Japanese astronomers Hisashi Hirabayashi and Masaki Morimoto sent an email there back in 1983, which was lost and has just been re-discovered by the latter at the Nishi-Harima Astronomical Observatory. Hirabayashi says they were drunk at the time…

This is truly amazing.  Some drunk Japanese astronomers may have prank-called space 25 years ago.  I really hope they get back to us.
